CRUISE VLOG DAY 1
I’ll be posting both a video and giving a play by play of each day of the cruise.
So if you’d rather watch the vlog or read about the day on Carnival Jubilee (or both) you can do that!
Morning
Embarkation day of a cruise is SO exciting! I never sleep very much the night before because I’m anxious to get on the ship and enjoy the cruise.
We drove down to Galveston the morning of the cruise. I usually recommend people get to the cruise destination a day before the cruise in case anything happens, ESPECIALLY if you’re flying. Driving really depends on the distance.
It was very busy around the cruise terminals because this was a spring break cruise. We parked our car, road the shuttle over to the terminal and waited in an extremely long line.
It took us about an hour to get through security and board the ship.
We were immediately AMAZED when we walked into the grand central area of Jubilee. It was stunning!
We did our muster drill, went to guest services to switch people in our group to different rooms and got our first food of the day! Some pizza!
Afternoon
I spent the first afternoon on Carnival Jubilee mostly exploring the ship!
After we ate we went to find our rooms. Our group of 4 split up after this for a little bit. I ended up finding the gym and doing a spa tour so that I could enter embarkation day raffles to potenitally win free services for the cruise!
I didn’t end up winning but about 14 (I believe) won something so it’s definitely worth going to! It’s also nice to see what the ship has to offer and they even gave a mini hot stone and bamboo roller massage which was very nice!
It was then time for the sail away party!
I do have to say sail away on a Carnival cruise was much more of a party than I have experienced on other cruise lines. There were tons of people, lots of dancing and fun right there on the lido deck.
Before and some after the sail away party I went to get out Serenity, the adults only section of the ship and called a couple people to say goodbye since I didn’t buy the wifi plan.
Serenity was AWESOME. It was so large on this ship class, lots of seating, a pool, bar and a salad venue.
I met up with my mother in law after this (I spent this cruise with my in laws without my husband lol. He had to stay home to work and I ended up getting a last minute opportunity to go on this cruise for free so I couldn’t turn it down!)
We got our first ice cream of the cruise! If you don’t get the soft serve at least once a day on a cruise you are doing it wrong! It’s sooo good!
We ended up checking out the very back of the ship that had some more pools and hot tubs. After that we went to Java Blue Cafe to split a beef empanada.
Pro Tip:
Most people think Java Blue Cafe is just a paid venue but it’s not! They do offer some food that is included in the cost of your cruise fare, and it’s good!
We made our way over to the casino for my mother in law to try her luck, her mother ended up winning over $400!
We did a little bit of shopping at the stores on the ship and then went back to our rooms to unpack.
Evening
For dinner we ended up going to the main dining room, the Pacific Restaurant.
This is an included venue on your cruise. We had my time dining on this cruise so we didn’t have a set dining time and were able to go whenever we wanted.
Everything was generally good. I finally got to try the famous Carnival Melting Cake and it did not disappoint!
We ended our night in the theater watching “Dear Future Husband”. These types of shows are not always my cup of tea but this one was REALLY well done. It was catchy, entertaining and all of the staff were so talented.
That’s one thing I noticed over my week on Jubilee. The talent was just outstanding.

CRUISE VLOG DAY 2
Morning
The second day of the cruise started out bright and early at 7:30 am.
I went to Serenity to hang out for a little bit. I love having a relaxing early morning on a cruise. The ship is much more quiet, it’s just a great time on a cruise.
Keep your towel from blowing away on the pool deck with towel clips:
I ended up meeting my family at the Pacific Restaurant for Sea Day Brunch! An absolute must do on a Carnival cruise!
If there’s one thing I would recommend everyone should try is the 12 hour french toast. It’s to die for. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
I spent the rest of my morning exploring the ship more and also hanging out in my room some. I had an ocean view room and I really loved our window. It had a little cove I was able to sit in and look at the water.
Afternoon
There wasn’t much I wanted to do this afternoon so I decided to go to an informative seminar that at the end they gave you a paper to win a free cruise.
If you’re someone who wants to know about what the ship has to offer, more about the ports and what shopping is there, this is the event for you.
We made our way over to Guy’s Burgers to get some lunch! This was my first time at this venue and I was so excited to give it a try after hearing so much.
They have a few different options for burgers you can choose from and tons of toppings!
I got a basic cheeseburger and it was pretty good! I liked the fries as well.
The rest of my afternoon was spent getting some sun on a beach bed back at Serenity. Looking at the ocean and reading a book.
Evening
I walked around the ship a bit after that then went back to my room to get ready for dinner.
Tonight we ended up going to Cucina Del Capitano. This is an Italian specialty dining restaurant but was currently included so it did not cost anything extra!
I really loved the look of this venue. It was a beautiful and nice experience. If you’re cruising on Jubilee I would definitely give this venue a try!
Shop the look:
We spent the rest of our evening going to a few shows.
The first one was a comedy show.
Pro Tip:
A lot of the venues for entertainment on Jubilee are actually quite small. Especially for a ship that holds over 6,000 people. If you want to see a particular show, you need to get there early.
The second show was in grand central. We got to watch Drew Thomas from America’s Got Talent for an allusions show. This was a fantastic show! He really outdid himself.
The last thing we did was another comedy show. They had several comedians on this ship for the week which I really liked! This comedian, Vince, was my favorite of the week.
Sometimes they aren’t always the funniest on a cruise but this guy really did a great job.
CRUISE VLOG DAY 3
Morning
Day 3 on Carnival Jubilee was another sea day! I started my day again at 7:30 am in the gym. I’m someone who likes to work out while on a cruise, especially because I like to eat on a cruise!
I did a light arms day and some time on the treadmill.
After the gym I went up to Serenity to relax with an ocean view for a bit.
I made my way over to Shaq’s Big Chicken for breakfast. This ended up being one of my favorite venues of the week. I was most excited to try this before the cruise.
They offer breakfast and lunch options. This morning I ended up getting a chili honey butter chicken biscuit and home fries.
I really enjoyed this meal and think others should try it as well. I do wish it was a little more spicy so I would ask for more chili sauce. The honey butter was very delicious though and the thin fries were nice and crispy.
I went back to Serenity to read a bit while waiting for my family to wake up.
At about 11 am I met my in laws in the buffet and just grabbed a couple things while they ate breakfast.
Afternoon
Today was pretty repetitive, I spent most of my day hanging out in the adults only section of Serenity. Some of it was in the shade but I also got some sun, read and hung out with my family.
Some sea days I love doing as many scheduled ship activities as possible and others I like just sitting on the pool deck and relaxing.
I had lunch at Fresh Creations right there in Serenity. It was a salad bar that had a lot more toppings and dressings than the buffet salad bar did. It was really delicious!
Pro Tip:
The hours for Fresh Creations were pretty minimal so if you want to try this I would make sure you are able to when it was open. This is in the adults only section but if you want to bring a salad out to your kids you definitely can.
After my salad I grabbed more soft serve, perfect on a hot, sunny day.
I went back to my room to shower then made my way to the theater to see “What’s Age Got To Do With It?” This show was hosted by the FANTASTIC Kyndall “Fire”. She was the cruise director on Jubilee and she’s absolutely hilarious and an amazing director.
This show consisted of two family members of different ages, mostly a parent and a child, answering questions. It reminded me of “kids say the darnedest things” so funny and cute.
Evening
Before dinner I was really wanting some dessert so I went to Beach Buns, the deli food venue that’s included on the cruise. They had brownies & cookies, both with I liked.
I then met up with my family for dinner in the main dining room again, the Pacific Restaraunt.
The show we went to this evening was one I was anxiously waiting to see and was SUPER excited they offered on Jubilee, Family Feud.
This is a MUST SEE. They had all of the legit equipment. You can audition to take part in this show with your family if you would like to.
We ended the night just hanging out in Grand Central talking and eating some snacks.

CRUISE VLOG DAY 4
Morning
For the fourth day of our cruise we were finally at our first port stop!
Today we were docked at Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras.
We went to Shaq’s Big Chicken for breakfast because I wanted my family to give it a try after I liked my meal the day before.
After breakfast we got off the ship. Today we just decided to do an excursion through Carnival to their beach area at this port.
You don’t have to pay to go here but we booked the Ultimate Beach Excursion that included:
-Magic floating chairs
-Chairs & umbrella
-Snorkel gear
-Floats
-Kayak for 1/2 hour
We decided to come to this beach instead of venuring out into the country because we had a family member with us that did not need to be out in the sun too much or walk too far so we wanted to stay close to the ship so she could join us on an excursion.
We walked through the port and then road the ski lift type chairs over to the beach! If you don’t want to pay for this, it is a very short walk to the beach but this was a fun experience with great views.
For our time in port we relaxed on our beach chairs, spent a lot of time in the ocean and also ate some lunch.
I ended up ordering a virgin mango daiquiri which was perfect for such a hot beach day.
As far as food goes, it was a tourist type area so it was not the best. We had some beef nachos that I would not recommend at all. I have heard the jerk chicken is much better.
This port has tons of chairs, ocean access, restaurants, bars, bathrooms, floats, kayaks, snorkeling, massages, fish spas and more!
We left the beach and did a little bit of shopping in port before getting back on the ship.
Port Day Must Haves:
Afternoon
I walked around this afternoon while the ship was decently empty getting some content.
After that I met back up with my family to go to Guy’s Burgers again. This time I got The Ringer burger and it was DELICIOUS!
It has a special sauce and an onion ring on top.
We went down to deck 6 to get some dessert and do some people watching.
It was a long day in the sun so I ended up going back to the room for a bit to read my book and take a nap.
Evening
Tonight we went to Chibang for dinner. This was another specialty dining restaurant that was currently included and not an additional cost.
This restaurant was Mexican and Asian. It wasn’t a fusion food venue. They actually had 2 different menus you could order off of.
We ended up not loving this restaurant. The food was just okay, the service was not the best. (We aren’t sure why- understaffed, overworked, lack of training but our service all week was not the best).
Even then I still think the staff deserve respect and we should have some grace always on a cruise because they are working so hard.
The best part of this meal was the coconut tres leches cake! It was SO yummy!
We ended our night with another comedy show and then went to bed.
CRUISE VLOG DAY 5
Morning
Today we were porting in Costa Maya, Mexico!
I started my morning in the gym again. Today I finally had phone service since we were in Mexico and my phone plan allowed data roaming without international charges here.
The first part of my morning was spent in Serenity calling my husband and family to catch up with them after I had been off the grid for a few days.
I met up with my family in the buffet for breakfast then we ended getting off the ship at 10:30 am.
We had all been to this port a few times and it isn’t our favorite so we just decided to stay in port today and walk around and look at more shops that we have skipped in the past.
The first section of the port we went to I hadn’t been to before, it was near the front with a few of the ship and has a swim up bar. This is a really nice area if you want to stay in port.
They have beach chairs, beach beds and drinks you can order.
We also spent some time at the very back of the port with a newer pool section they’ve opened up.
I didn’t end up buying anything even though we went in probably 20 stores.
Pro Tip:
It is a common scam in Costa Maya for the Mexican Vanilla that is sold in stores to be fake. A lot of people in cruise groups have commented that when they got back home they realized it wasn’t authentic unfortunately.
If you are wanting to buy some vanilla to take back home I would suggest getting it in another port like Cozumel.
Afternoon
We got back on the ship at 1 pm and went to Blue Iguana Cantina for lunch!
This dining venue has breakfast and lunch that offers tacos and burritos. We have some pretty good tacos in Texas so I wasn’t sure what to expect but these were actually very good!
I spent the rest of my afternoon hanging out in Serenity reading my book and talking to more family on the phone.
Sail away today was such a great time, the weather was awesome, the breeze was perfect. It was the best post sunny tropical day back on the ship.
Evening
I also explored more of the ship after sail away and recorded some areas for the cruise vlog. I checked out the Ultimate Playground above the pool deck. This section is awesome for kids!
It has the Bolt Roller Coaster, water slides, a ropes course, a basketball court and mini golf! It truly is a spectacular area of the ship.
Later on I went to the Punchliner club to watch a comedian.
My in laws and I went to Guy’s Smokehouse Brewhouse for dinner. This was my #1 venue for the entire ship!
The BBQ was just delicious. I go into detail of everything I ordered in the video but you definitely have to eat here at least once on your cruise.
It is an include venue for now but does have some upcharge items if you want to purchase them.
We ended the night watching the Rio Brazil show in Grand Central which was very well done and entertaining! They had singing, dancing, tons of costumes and some acrobatics.
I also bought some candy from Cherry On Top, the onboard candy store before going to bed!
CRUISE VLOG DAY 6
–
Morning
Day 6 on Carnival Jubilee was in Cozumel, Mexico! This is one of my favorite port stops for the beach clubs here.
I started my morning up on the pool deck just hanging out. The staff had actually put towel animals on every chair around the lido deck which was really fun!
I went to the gym this morning for a quick workout. We decided to go to Buccano’s Beach Club for our day in port but they don’t open until 10 am so we had some time around the ship in the morning.
We had breakfast in the buffet and then made our way off the ship.
Cozumel is another typical port that has lots of shopping and some restaurants to hang out at if you just want to stay in port.
Side Note:
They do check your bags here when you get off the ship. I ended up having all of my cash bundled up in an envelope that I didn’t notice fell out of my bag while they were checking it. This was about $160!
I didn’t realize until we were in the taxi later that it was gone and I was SICK to my stomach. Thankfully, my mother in law’s mom was still in port and she had actually seen something fall and a security staff pick it up but didn’t know it was mine.
She went back and spoke to the staff and he ended up giving back ALL of my money. I was very surprised by his honesty. I really didn’t expect to get anything back. We gave him a tip for being so nice.
Afternoon
Buccano’s Beach Club is a gorgeous venue to spend you day in Cozumel at. It is $25/per person to get in but this cost is credited back to you in food and drink purchases.
We relaxed in some beach chairs, floated in the ocean a couple times, ordered some food and drinks. It overall was a fantastic day. The whole area was just stunning.
Recommended Beach Float:
When we were in the ocean and tons of fish were up by the surface all around us! It was like going on a snorkeling adventure without going under water. It was cool to see the different types of beautiful fish.
This venue also has a gift shop and offers massages.
We got a taxi back to port about 2 pm because we had a 3:30 pm all aboard unfortunately.
My family and I stopped by a couple shops then got back on the ship.
Evening
I spent more time relaxing on a pool chair in Serenity.
We went to dinner back in the main dining room again tonight. This night was actually a long wait and took forever for our party of three.
The shining star of the night was the Creme Brulee. It was PERFECT! I love dessert and this one had a thick layer of the sugar on top that was just fantastic.
After dinner we went to the Love and Marriage gameshow.
This is one of my favorite shows to catch on a cruise because it’s always SO funny! They choose a couple that was just married, one that has been together for awhile and one that is much older and married for an extremely long time.
They ask them all the same questions but the answers are always so different and hilarious.
We ended the day watching another comedy show in the Punchliner then going to bed.
CRUISE VLOG DAY 7
Morning
The last day of our cruise was a sea day back to Galveston, Texas!
I started my day getting the last areas of the ship recorded early while not many people were up for the cruise vlog.
After that I met my family in the buffet to have a slice of french toast and then I had a chicken finger and some fries from Shaq’s Big Chicken.
It was a rainy morning unfortunately so I stayed inside the ship for a bit waiting for this to pass.
Afternoon
I spent the last bit of my onboard credit in the casino hoping to win but unfortunately I did not. I don’t really like to gamble but wanted to give a few of the machines a shot.
Later on I met back up with my family, played sodoku and had some snacks.
I was supposed to go on the Bolt Roller Coaster today but sadly the wind was too crazy for it to operate.
We watched a staff member carve an ice sculpture on the pool deck which was really impressive!
I finally tried some food from Street Eats the last day of the cruise! This venue is included and changes menus every single day.
I hung out in Serenity some to read my book more and just watch the ocean now that it was a pretty and sunny day again.
Evening
We went to a magic show that turned out to be really good!
Unfortunately it was that time where I had to pack my bag for the end of the cruise.
After that I ended up going to the gym one last night and spending some time in the free sauna.
Pro Tip:
This ship does have a thermal spa you can pay for but if you just want a sauna they have one for free not many people know about!
It is located in the spa instead the locker room. It is coed.
I ended the night with a few great shows. We watched The World Works Here, We Are One, and a comedy show.
I got some late night pizza for dinner right before bed.
Overall Thoughts:
I loved my cruise on Carnival Jubilee and would recommend it to anyone! If you’re cruising on this ship hopefully this real life example cruise vlog helps you get an understanding of different things you can do on this ship to have a fantastic time!
This post was all about the cruise vlog for my week on Carnival Jubilee.
